Give Blood Future Brand Vision - "Know-How"

Know How
Future Brand Vision for UK Charity Give Blood
A team project exploring the contextual issues surrounding the future of blood donation, it was discovered that four of the six team members could not give blood. Unlike other charities, Give Blood does not rely on the donation of money, so if you’re not eligible to give blood – what else can you give?

The future direction of Give Blood is built on the concept that, though you may not realise yet, we all have something to give. Six products have been designed to help all ages become a part of Give Blood, through the giving of knowledge, experience, support, time, skills or creativity.

Know-How connects people within institutions who may not meet any other way. A lot of potential knowledge is not shared within companies, universities and other organisations so this product hopes to connect the people with this knowledge. For example a student at a university may be researching a certain subject without realising there is a lecturer in a different school who specialises in it. The student could ask a very specific question which the lecturer would be able to answer, encouraging them to connect in person as well.

The product stays within the same institution for its entire life. When an individual user leaves the institution e.g. when they retire or graduate they pass it on to somebody who is just joining. By passing on the product it helps to involve younger generations with the brand to help it to grow in the future.

The final product consisted of a flexible screen where users could post notes to ask questions or share some of their own know-how.
